Garden Snacks
Today, as I was harvesting zucchini, I noticed some snow peas that were ready to harvest for my garden snacks. These don't typically make it to the pot inside or the pan to sauté. I typically am the only one who is eating garden snacks because I grow them for me to have while I am outside working on the farm. Last season, my preferred garden snack was sun gold cherry tomatoes. Those start out as small round, green tomatoes, that start to turn yellow, and then when ready to harvest they are sunset orange. This season, my preferred garden snack is snow peas. The entire pod can be eaten, and on the inside are the peas. They are sweet, full of flavor, and the perfect snack after working in the hot sun. I am very comfortable eating them right off the vine, because I don't use any pesticides, or herbicides on anything I grow. There isn't any wax on them from a chemical that you would need to worry about trying to get rinsed off before you can eat them. It is just good, clean, real food.
We are passionate about growing organically and working hard to have these healthy options for ourselves and our community. Thank you for being here with us on this journey!
